1. Recommended area: Playa Serena
Playa Serena is considered one of the best beaches in Roquetas de Mar.
This beach, located about six kilometres south of the city centre, is mostly small pebbles and, compared to the more central beaches, it’s not as crowded.
Playa Serena is an urban beach, so it has services such as toilets, showers and lifeguards. It also offers an excellent promenade with a large number of beach bars and restaurants.
Urbanización Playa Serena, located directly in front of the beach, is one of the most exclusive areas of Roquetas de Mar. Most of the luxury hotels and resorts in town are located in this residential and tourist development and there’s a large number of restaurants and shops.
The Playa Serena Golf Club is one of the best in the province and offers 18 holes, courses for beginners and a clubhouse.
Playa Serena is also very close to natural spaces such as the Punta Entinas-Sabinar Natural Area, a natural park facing the sea with panoramic views, migratory birds and a quiet beach.
Being somewhat remote from the centre of Roquetas de Mar, the best way to get around if you decide to stay in Playa Serena is by car. That said, the area has bus stops (line M-330) and taxi services.
